Reunion Weekend Ideas

So we're tossing around lots of ideas for events and activities during the reunion weekend (Thurs - Sun). Below is a laundry list of things we've brainstormed. Please add more, and let us know if there are particular events that stand out as ones you really really like (or dislike).

Q - How much interaction is "designed" across classes? What events can foster friendships/relationship building across classes?

A - Not much, except for the opening all-class wine tasting on Friday around 5 or 6 p.m.

Perhaps ordering the largest reunion cake ever made at Yale and inviting all the classes to enjoy it after noon lunch with champagne from our champagne/sparkler sponsor.

Grober, Professor of Applied Physics & Physics, has combined his passion for golf and his professional expertise to produce a unique and effective real-time audio biofeedback device for teaching and training golf. Join Professor Grober for an explanation and demonstration of his invention.

Is Emotional Intelligence Another Way to be Smart, or Is It Just a Passing Fad?

Peter Salovey, the Chris Argyris Professor of Psychology and Dean of Yale College, introduced Emotional Intelligence to the scientific world in 1990. In this stimulating talk, he will discuss the psychological research supporting this idea, the way it is measured, and its importance for work, school, and family life. Dean Salovey will also comment on the media hoopla inspired by the idea of Emotional Intelligence and the challenges created by it.
